Description
Bilastine and Montelukast Sodium Tablets are classified as anti-allergic medications and are mainly utilized to manage allergic conditions such as sneezing, runny nose, congestion, nasal stuffiness, or watery eyes. An allergy occurs when the immune system reacts to a substance that is usually harmless to the body, known as an allergen. Some individuals may have allergies to specific foods or experience seasonal allergies like hay fever, pollen, or pet dander. One common symptom of allergies is a cough, which serves as a reflex response when mucus or irritants enter the respiratory system.
How Bilastine and Montelukast Sodium Tablets Work?
Bilastine and Montelukast Sodium Tablets combine two medications: Montelukast (a leukotriene receptor antagonist) and Bilastine (an antihistamine). Montelukast is part of leukotriene receptor antagonists, which inhibit the effects of chemicals called leukotrienes that are released from the lungs and cause inflammation (swelling) and increased mucus production in the airways. By reducing inflammation, mucus production, and narrowing in the airways, it helps alleviate symptoms. Bilastine, classified as an antihistamine (anti-allergic medication), works by blocking the effects of histamine, a substance that triggers allergic reactions. It aids in relieving allergy symptoms, including sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling, congestion, or nasal stiffness.
