Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide are classified as antacids, while oxetacaine is categorized as a local anaesthetic. The primary action of aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide is to neutralize an excess of stomach acid. Oxetacaine offers a numbing effect, helping to relieve pain caused by ulcers or acid-related damage in the stomach.
